Responding to a Door Hanger: Why Did You Receive One?

If you received a door hanger, it means one of our technicians attempted to inspect your natural gas meter but was unable to complete the task.

As an authorized contractor for Atlanta Gas Light, QM3 shares their commitment to providing safe, reliable natural gas services. In line with both federal and state regulations, we regularly conduct physical surveys and inspections of natural gas meters as part of ongoing safety and maintenance programs.

Our inspections may include meter assessments, minor maintenance, or painting to ensure the integrity and functionality of the equipment.

We were unable to complete the inspection for one of the following reasons:

  • The gas meter is located indoors.
  • Access to the meter was blocked (e.g., by a locked gate or debris).
  • A dog or another obstruction prevented safe access.

To help us ensure your meter’s safety, we kindly ask that you make the meter accessible. Please contact us immediately at 770-864-5237 (Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.) to schedule a follow-up inspection.


Tips for Assisting Our Team with Unannounced Inspections:

  • Recognize Our Technicians: QM3 technicians will be dressed in official uniforms and carry proper identification.
  • Ensure Meter Accessibility: Please make sure the area around your gas meter is clear of any obstructions, such as locked gates, debris, or pets, to help our technicians complete the inspection safely and efficiently.
